Innovation Round 1

Round 1 of the Innovation Fund explicitly funded projects that focused on eradicating extreme poverty in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Haor and Coastal regions of Bangladesh, given the high percentage of extreme poverty in these areas. With the goal of encouraging new innovative ideas to improve the livelihoods of the extreme poor, 6 NGO projects were selected. Examples of supported innovations included inter-beneficiary exchange of asset base, development of innovative agricultural technologies and short duration crop varieties, developing agribusinesses for Adivasi communities, and developing climate-resilient agriculture on khas kanda land.
