Mojar khabar launched by InvESt project

‘Mojar Khabar’ is a mobile food brand operating in Dhaka under InvESt project since 2011. The ultimate objective of this project is to establish a mobile hygienic brand of a food business chain to increase project participants’ (urban extreme poor) income and expand asset base to graduate from extreme poverty.

This three-year project which is supported by the Government of Bangladesh and funded by UK aid’s Shiree project is being implemented by a local non-governmental organization – Nari  Maitree under supervision of Concern Worldwide.

Mojar Khabar has formally started its mobile food outlets at Mirpur in Dhaka on July 17, 2012. Md. Nazrul Islam, Sanitary Inspector of Dhaka City Corporation-North, Operations Officer and Sub-inspectors of Mirpur Police Station, Dr. A. K. M. Musha, Country Director of Concern Worldwide,  Dr. Tareq Salahuddin, Communications Manager of UK aid funded Shiree project, Shahin Akthar Dolly, Executive Director of Nari Maitree were present in the inaugural ceremony.

Although the brand had a modest beginning at Malibagh area in Dhaka, it is expected the project would be operational in everywhere in Dhaka at the end of the 2012. The moving forces behind this hygienic mobile food brand is the under-privileged extreme urban poor people .The profit earned out of this venture is distributed among listed extreme urban poor participants of the project.
