Innovation Fund

The innovation fund contributes to achieving shiree's goal in lifting at least 1 million people in rural and urban areas out of extreme poverty and achieve sustainable livelihoods by 2015.  In doing this, the fund is designed to support small scale projects develop creative and innovative approaches.

The Innovation Fund considers undocumented and un-tested approaches to address the economic needs of the extreme poor. This includes innovative ideas, processes, systems and technologies which are likely to generate assets, improve incomes, decrease dependency and vulnerability, increase food security and provide sustainable pathways out of poverty. shiree accepts idea(s) which have been tried and tested in other parts of the world but have yet been applied in Bangladesh.

The Innovation Fund supports:  i) the economic empowerment of the extreme poor through  sustainable livelihood options; ii) attempts to address the needs of  marginalized groups and people located in geographically remote or environmentally vulnerable  areas;  iii) increase resilience and adaptability to disaster and climate change; and iv) develop pathways out of poverty which are replicable on a larger scale.
