Share Learning
EEP/shiree aims to increase awareness of extreme poverty and to transform government, donor and NGO policies and programmes to improve the lives of the economic bottom 10 percent, both within and beyond the lifecycles of projects. It collates and disseminates evidence-based learning generated from its monitoring and evaluation and action research. In addition, it links with other programmes working on extreme poverty.
The primary purpose of sharing our learning is to improve our approaches to meeting the needs of the extreme poor.
Lesson learning and sharing in EEP/shiree is achieved through:
i) Lesson learning among EEP/shiree and its partner NGOs capturing and analysing data for the production of evidence-based learning;
ii) Facilitating lesson learning platforms for a wider development audience to exchange learning and unite policy makers under one umbrella to interact to reduce extreme poverty;
iii) The promotion of action research on extreme poverty.
The number of sharing platforms promoted and facilitated by shiree is growing to include: frequent Lesson Learning Workshops, Sharing Sessions with other DFID-funded extreme poverty projects, as well as other outside and relevant actors, advocacy events like Extreme Poverty Day (October 2010) and Eradicate Extreme Urban Poverty (November 2010) and the quarterly meetings of the Extreme Poverty Research Group (EPRG).
