Key Aspects
- Targets extreme poor women including widows, abandoned women and those with a large number of children
- Responds to local concerns of increased ground salinity, climate change impacts and lack of available land for cultivation by supporting BHHs to develop above-ground homestead cultivation including rooftop farming and hanging jute net platforms for cultivation.
- Conditional cash transfers designed to satisfy immediate needs with subsequent transfers intended to finance the development of IGAs including conventional cropping, bamboo cultivation and small scale livestock initiatives
- Delivers skills transfer and training programmes accompanied by cash stipends to cover loss of earnings during attendance
- Development and roll out of support network created by grouping beneficiaries
Outputs
- Output 1: Above ground homestead production technology is disseminated to target HHs
- Output 2: Target HHs are provided with the resources for undertaking new production techniques (IGAs)
- Output 3: Extreme poor women are supported to understand the commercial viability of above ground homestead production
- Output 4: Extreme poor women are supported to form group-based support networks
