Where will the programme work?

The Fund will accept proposals from organisations working in all parts of Bangladesh. It will focus particularly on remote, impoverished and under served areas, climate change vulnerable areas or groups for example people living in basins ‘haors’, coastal regions and also the extreme poor in urban areas.

shiree will work in consultation with other pro-poor initiatives such as the Chars Livelihoods Programme (CLP) (see (www.clp-bangladesh.org), BRAC’s Challenging the Frontiers of Poverty Reduction (see http://www.bracres… and http://dfidweb.dfid.gov.uk/pri….) as well as the Urban Partnerships for Poverty Reduction. In order to avoid duplication of effort and coordinate DFID resources to target the poorest households, shiree will coordinate activities to prevent overlapping of initiatives with other donor initiatives.
